Erick Avari Injured During Rehearsal for BUNTY BERMAN PRESENTS...; The New Group Cancels Previews, 4/19-22

Preview performances of Bunty Berman Presents... will not take place Friday, April 19, Saturday, April 20 and Monday, April 22 at The New Group. Actor Erick Avari sustained an injury from a fall during a rehearsal earlier this week, and as a result, has withdrawn from the show on doctor's orders.

Scott Elliott, The New Group's Artistic Director and director of Bunty Berman Presents..., issued the following statement: "Erick's recovery is a foremost concern for all of us and he has our full support. I can't say enough about his commitment and contributions through rehearsals and early previews. He will be missed by everyone around the show."

Bunty Berman Presents... is a new musical with book & lyrics by Ayub Khan Din and music by Ayub Khan Din and Paul Bogaev. Scott Elliott directs this world premiere.

The cast includes Raja Burrows, Nick Choksi, Katie Chung, Sevan Greene, Andrew Guilarte, Shoba Narayanan, Lyn Philistine, Debargo Sanyal, Pallavi Sastry, Gayton Scott, Lipica Shah, Alok Tewari and Sorab Wadia.

Choreography is by Josh Prince. Set Design is by Derek McLane. Costume Design is by William Ivey Long. Lighting Design is by David Lander. Sound Design is by ACME Sound Partners. Projection Design is by Wendall K. Harrington. Orchestrations and Arrangements are by Paul Bogaev and Boko Suzuki. Music Supervision is by Paul Bogaev. Music Direction is by Boko Suzuki.

Previews began April 12 and an Opening Night is slated for Thursday, May 9. A limited Off-Broadway engagement is planned through June 1 at The New Group at Theatre Row (The Acorn Theatre, 410 West 42nd Street).
