The sixth year of the acclaimed series, Monday Nights, New Voices, will continue on May 24th at The Duplex Cabaret Theatre with special guest host Erin Davie, who is currently starring in the Tony Nominated revival of A Little Night Music as Countess Charlotte Malcolm.

The 7pm concert will be celebrating the songs of Vanities Composer, David Kirshenbaum. Vocalists for the evening include Shelly Bort, Nanci Miles, Ryan Murray, Angelo Rios and Cassie Wooley.

Kirshenbaum will accompany each performer on selections from his songbook and will offer stories about the songs. Paul Staroba is the musical director.

Erin Davie is currently staring as Countess Charlotte Malcolm in the Broadway revival of A Little Night Music. Other Broadway credits include: Young Little Edie in Grey Gardens (Theatre World Award for Outstanding Broadway Debut), Niki Harris in Curtains. Off-Broadway: The Glorious Ones, LCT; Infertility; Encores! Applause (Eve Harrington). National tours: Swing!, The Music of Andrew Webber. Regional: Camelot (Guenevere), The Apple Tree (Eve), A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC (Anne), Carousel (Julie), Jekyll & Hyde (Emma), The Student Prince (Princess).

David Kirshenbaum has written the music and lyrics for Vanities, A New Musical (book by Jack Heifner) and Summer of '42 (book by Hunter Foster) off-Broadway, Party Come Here (book by Daniel Goldfarb) at Williamstown Theatre Festival, and the holiday musical Yes, Virginia, There Is a Santa Claus (book by Myles McDonnell). Regional theatres that have produced his work include Goodspeed Musicals (CT), TheatreWorks (CA), Casa Manana (TX), Round House Theatre (MD), and Pasadena Playhouse (CA). TV: "Johnny and the Sprites" (Disney Channel). Grants: The Jonathan Larson Foundation and the National Alliance for Musical Theatre. CDs: The original cast recordings of Vanities (Sh-k-Boom/Ghostlight Records) and Summer of '42 (JAY Records), as well as solo albums by Lauren Kennedy, Alice Ripley, and Kate Shindle. Upcoming: Vanities is scheduled for a winter 2010-2011 co-production by 5th Avenue Theatre and A Contemporary Theatre in Seattle, and meanwhile David is excited to be currently writing his first (non-musical) plays, as well as other upcoming projects. He is a proud graduate of the University of Michigan.
