PeachPie Productions presents the world premiere of the dystopian musical Crashlight, written and directed by Celeste Makoff, with musical arrangements and orchestrations by Trevor Bumgarner, and choreography by Kaitlyn Moise.

Crashlight will play a three week limited engagement from Thursday, August 25th through Sunday, September 11th, 2016 at the Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce Street, New York, NY 10014). Opening night is Saturday, August 27th at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $30.00 ($22.00 Students and seniors) and can be purchased online by visiting www.crashlightnyc.com or by calling 212-352-3101.

"The music I wrote for Crashlight was inspired by the stories of North Korean defectors," shares creator Celeste Makoff. "My hope with this musical is that the audience remembers how fortunate we are to have the freedom to write, read, listen to music, and educate ourselves on the world without risking our lives."

Tens of millions of people in a dystopian future have only three minutes of sunlight a day. This small amount of light is controlled by a fascist dictator; master of propaganda, power and control by censorship. After discovering that someone in the sky hides the light away, a courageous illegal violin maker armed with her music, ventures out in the dark in an attempt to reveal a beautiful freedom to those who don't even know one exists.

Starring Andy Dispensa (The Commedia Cinderella), Rylee Doiron, Robert DiDomenico (Shakespeare in Space), Alexis Ebers (The Christians), Rachel Ferretti, Lindsay Gitter (Taylor Mac's A 24-Decade History of Popular Music), Ivy Idzakovich, Chandler James, Lynnsey Lewis, Kaitlyn Moise, Marisa Roper, Caleb Schaaf, and Cara Treacy.

Featuring set design by Adam Crinson, costume design by Shirlee Idzakovich, sound design by Sean Kiely and Ian Moloughlin, film direction and production design by Aaron Duffy. Kaitlyn Miller is the production stage manager, Maria Puglisi is the assistant choreographer, and Elizabeth Earhart is the production assistant. Graphic design by Paul Nunez.

Crashlight plays the following schedule through September 11th: Thursdays at 7:00 pm; Fridays at 7:00 pm; Saturdays at 7:00 pm; and Sundays at 7:00 pm (the performance on Sun, Sep 11th is at 2:00 pm)

Tickets are $30.00 ($22.00 Students and seniors) and can be purchased online by visiting www.crashlightnyc.com or by calling 212-352-3101. Running Time: Two hours with one intermission.
