Burstein & Luker Announce Outer Critics Circle Noms 4/20

Outer Critics Circle, the organization of writers covering New York theatre for out-of-town newspapers, national publications and other media beyond Broadway, is proud to report that Broadway stars, and husband and wife team, Rebecca Luker and Danny Burstein will publicly announce the nominees for the 2008-09 season on Monday, April 20th (11AM) at the historic Algonquin Hotel (59 West 44th Street).

Outer Critics Circle will post award nominations in 23 categories and are the first major Broadway/Off-Broadway award nominees of the New York theater season.

Rebecca Luker currently stars as Winifred Banks in Mary Poppins, for which she received a Tony Award nomination and an Outer Critics Circle Award nomination in 2007. Ms. Luker was last seen on Broadway opposite Antonio Banderas in Nine. Her other award-nominated performances include starring roles in The Music Man, The Sound of Music, Show Boat, and The Secret Garden.

Currently starring in South Pacific, Danny Burstein earned an Outer Critics Circle, Drama Desk and Tony Award nomination for his role of Luther Billis. Last seen as Aldolpho in The Drowsy Chaperone (Tony Award Nominee), Mr. Burstein's other recent Broadway credits include: A Class Act, Titanic, and Company.

Celebrating its 59th season of bestowing awards of excellence in the field of theater, the Outer Critics Circle is an association with members affiliated with more than ninety newspapers, magazines, radio and television stations, and theatre publications in America and abroad.

The winners of the following categories will be announced on Monday, May 11th and the annual awards ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 21st (4PM) at the legendary Sardi's Restaurant.
