The Barrow Group Theatre Company, the Drama Desk award-winning birthplace of this season's Broadway hit A Steady Rain, and last season's Off-Broadway hit The Temperamentals, will close their production of Scott Organ's PHOENIX, directed by TBG co-artistic director Seth Barrish, on May 3rd.

A one-night stand that refused to be - with Phoenix, Scott Organ gives us a story that peeks into the lives of two strangers who find themselves in an increasingly complex relationship. How do they deal with situations and stakes they never could have anticipated?

Scott Organ (playwright) Scott is pleased to have the New York Premiere of Phoenix at The Barrow Group. The world premiere of Phoenix was at the 34th Annual Humana Festival of New American Plays at the Actors Theater of Louisville. His full length play Fixed premiered at the Hangar Theater in Ithaca, New York and his other full-lengths have been performed and workshopped throughout the United States.?? His short plays China and The Mulligan were published in New American Short Plays 2005, edited by Craig Lucas, and have been performed throughout the country. His one-act play and everybody else can be found in Best American Short Plays 2002-2003. His short play Afraid. Yes. Of. premiered Off-Broadway as a part of The Fear Project at The Barrow Group. Many other short plays have been performed at the Atlantic Theater Company's 453 New Work Series, which he helped create. He is also the author of several screenplays and tv pilots.

Seth Barrish (Director) is an award-winning director, actor, composer, and musical director whose work has been enjoyed internationally, Off-Broadway, and regionally. His directing credits include: Mike Birbiglia's Sleepwalk With Me, David Edgar's Pentecost (Drama Desk Nomination, BEST PLAY), Martin Moran's The Tricky Part (Two Drama Desk Nominations, BEST PLAY & BEST SOLO SHOW, Obie Award), and Jon Maran's Old Wicked Songs (Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award & Garland Award for Best Direction, Pulitzer Prize Nomination), Thy Kingdom's Coming, Lonely Planet, Good (Straw Hat Award for Best Direction), Ghost in the Machine, Tales From Hollywood, Greetings, Beau Jest, Three Sisters, and When You Comin' Back Red Ryder?. He has worked at many notable theatres including The Intiman, The Promenade, McCarter, Long Wharf, Sundance Theatre Lab, The Geffen Playhouse, The Asolo Performing Arts Center, The Bleecker Street Theater, Playhouse 91, La Mama E.T.C., The Perry Street Theatre, Capital Rep, Shakespeare & Co., and The Barrow Group, and has made numerous film and television appearances. Mr. Barrish is a Master Teacher at The Barrow Group School, continuing to educate and inspire a multitude of working and student actors. He has also served as a Master Teacher at the International Director's Symposium in Spoleto, Italy. He is author of the book An Actors Companion-99 Bits of Craft.

Dusty Brown (Bruce) is an actor-turned comic-turned musician-turned actor. As an actor he studied at The Carnegie Mellon School of Drama and has performed in regional theater across the country. Then in New York he co wrote and starred in "The Barrel Brothers", a two person comedic play that premiered at The Upright Citizen's Brigade Theater and ran for a year, ultimately winning the ECNY award for best comedic duo. DeAnna Lenhart (Sue) DeAnna Lenhart is returning to acting after taking a break to have two fabulous kids. Previous work at the Barrow Group: The Fear Project, Rescue Me and The Fear Project. Other New York credits include Tantrum Theater's productions of Escape From Happiness and The House of Yes. She has worked at both The Idaho Shakespeare Festival and New City Theater in Seattle, WA and has been seen in As the World Turns and numerous national commercials.

Under the direction of Co-Artistic Directors Lee Brock and Seth Barrish, founded in 1986, The Barrow Group (TBG) has earned its award-winning reputation for unconditional dedication to the art of acting. Originally founded and operated out of a railroad flat on Barrow Street, TBG has grown into a mid-size Theatre Organization currently housed in the "Theatre Building" in Midtown.
