BUYER & CELLAR Begins Previews Off-Broadway at Barrow Street Theatre Tonight

The off-Broadway comedy, Buyer & Cellar, starring Michael Urie ("Ugly Betty"), written by Jonathan Tolins, and directed by Stephen Brackett, begins performances tonight at 7:30pm at the Barrow Street Theatre. The opening night is set for Monday, June 24 at 7:30pm.

Alex More has a story to tell. A struggling actor in L.A., Alex takes a job working in the Malibu basement of a beloved megastar. One day, the Lady Herself comes downstairs to play. It feels like real bonding in the basement, but will their relationship ever make it upstairs? Buyer & Cellar is an outrageous comedy about the price of fame, the cost of things, and the oddest of odd jobs.

Buyer & Cellar is the recipient of the 2013 Drama Desk, Clarence Derwent, and Off-Broadway Alliance awards. Following the play's world premiere at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, the critics were wowed:

Buyer & Cellar plays Tuesday through Sunday at 7:30pm; Saturday and Sunday at 2:30pm at the Barrow Street Theatre, 27 Barrow Street, east of Seventh Avenue South. (There is no evening performance on Sunday, June 23.)
