The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Executive Director Andrew D. Hamingson) announced complete casting and creative team today for BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON: The Concert Version, the fourth play of the 2008-2009 Public LAB season. BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON: The Concert Version is a fast-paced entertainment that takes a sharp, irreverent look at America's seventh president, Andrew Jackson. This satirical epic reveals questions about the country we live in and the leaders we choose. Michael Friedman's score was honored with an L.A. Critics' Award for the musical's world premiere at Center Theatre Group.

The cast for BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON: The Concert Version features David Axelrod (The People Garden at the Play Group Theatre), James Barry (Sive at Irish Rep), Darren Goldstein (Mouth to Mouth at The New Group), Greg Hildreth (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson at Center Theatre Group), Jeff Hiller (The Awesome ‘80s Prom off-Broadway), Lisa Joyce (Red Light Winter at Barrow St. Theatre), Lucas Near-Verbrugghe (Macbeth at Shakespeare in the Park), Bryce Pinkham (Beyond Therapy at Williamstown), Maria Elena Ramirez (the film The Women), Kate Cullen Roberts (Party Come Here at Williamstown), Ben Steinfeld (Two Gentlemen of Verona at Fiasco Theater), Benjamin Walker (Les Liaisons Dangereuses on Broadway), and Colleen Werthmann (Light Raise the Roof at NYTW).

BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON: The Concert Version will feature scenic design by Donyale Werle, costume design by Emily Rebholz, lighting design by Justin Townsend, and sound design by Bart Fasbender.

"Alex Timbers and Michael Friedman are two of today's most exciting young artists, creating a unique brand of theater that is wickedly funny, highly theatrical and fiercely smart," said Associate Artistic Director Mandy Hackett. "In BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON, they employ their quick wit to examine a critical moment in our country's evolution."
