Reviewing Bedlam's 2014 production of SENSE & SENSIBILITY Ben Brantley from The New York Times exclaimed, "No troupe in New York these days rides the storytelling momentum of theater more resourcefully or enthusiastically than BEDLAM... high-octane Austen... Ms. Hamill and Mr. Tucker have sidestepped the problem by transposing Austen into the key of Dickens. Theirs is a bouncy, jaunty take on Austen, with a 10-member cast taking on an assortment of roles that are always clearly defined, sometimes as graphically as caricatures by the Dickens illustrator Phiz."

The Wall Street Journal's Terry Teachout raved, "BEDLAM is a band of gifted unknowns who can make theatrical magic in an empty room. That's what Bedlam is doing with SENSE AND SENSIBILITY. No theater troupe in America is doing more creative classical revivals."

Tickets range from $69 to $89, and are available at www.bedlam.org (866-811-4111).

The playing schedule for SENSE & SENSIBILITY is as follows: Tuesday and Thursday at 7pm, Wednesday and Saturday at 2pm, Friday and Saturday at 8pm, Sunday at 3pm, and Sunday at 7:30pm. Please note there will be no performance Sunday, January 24 at 7:30pm, Wednesday, February 24 at 2pm, Sunday, February 28 at 7:30pm, Tuesday, March 1 at 7pm, Friday, March 4 at 8pm, and Sunday, March 6 at 7:30pm. There will be added performances Wednesday, February 24 at 7pm, and Monday, February 29 at 7pm.

Committed to the immediacy of the relationship between the actor and the audience BEDLAM creates theatre in a flexible, raw space and is interested in contemporary reappraisals of the classics, new writing and small-scale musical theatre. The theatre we make always includes the audience. Storytelling is paramount to us. We believe that innovative use of space can collapse aesthetic distance and bring the audience into direct contact with the dangers and delicacies of life.
