Atlantic for Kids presents the New York premiere of Camp Kappawanna, a new family musical featuring music and lyrics by Grammy Award nominated singer/songwriter Lisa Loeb, Michelle Lewis and Dan Petty, directed by Atlantic Acting School Artistic Director Alison Beatty, choreographed by MK Lawson (Mr. Chickee's Funny Money) with musical direction by Nate Weida (Ivy + Bean The Musical).

Camp Kappawanna will play every Saturday and Sunday at 10:30 a.m. beginning Saturday, March 21, 2015 through Sunday, April 12, 2015, with two weekday performances at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 8 and Friday, April 10 at Atlantic Theater Company at The Linda Gross Theater (336 West 20 Street between 8 and 9 Avenues). Running time is approximately one hour with no intermission.

Following the misadventures of 12-year old Jennifer Jenkins, an awkward and adorable 12-year-old kid, Camp Kappawanna portrays the fear and excitement of leaving home for the first time. This lighthearted musical, inspired by Lisa Loeb's own nostalgic summer camp memories, has an acoustic sound that will take you back to nights spent around the camp fire.

Lisa Loeb started her career with the platinum selling number one hit song "Stay (I Missed You)" from the motion picture Reality Bites. In 2008, Lisa took her talents to the non-profit sector to launch The Camp Lisa Foundation, to help raise funds to send kids to camp. She enlisted her musician pals Kay Hanley, Jill Sobule, Nina Gordon and Steve Martin to record a companion cd, Camp Lisa, and released it via partnership with Barnes and Noble.

Atlantic for Kids has presented fun, quality children's theater for the past 12 years. In addition to its weekend performances for families, Atlantic for Kids has welcomed thousands of NYC public school children to see weekday performances. These performances include talk backs with cast members and discussions about the theme of the play.
