MAGIC VENTURES LLC, in association with The New York Musical Festival, is pleased to announce the world premiere production of new musical, NIGHT TIDE, with music by Nathania Wibowo, book & lyrics by Taylor Tash, music direction by Andy Peterson, and directed/choreographed by Luis Villabon. NIGHT TIDE will play a limited engagement as part of The New York Musical Festival at Peter Jay Sharp Theater (416 West 42nd Street). Performances begin Monday, July 17 and continue through Saturday, July 22.

Inspired by the B-movie of the same title, NIGHT TIDE tells the kitschy and compelling tale of Johnny Drake, a lonely naval sailor. While enjoying his first shore leave in a spooky, run-down seaside resort town, he meets Mora, a seductive and mysterious young woman who performs as a mermaid in the sideshow. Johnny immediately becomes smitten with Mora, but he soon discovers that she may actually be a real siren of the sea, and she may have lured her previous boyfriends to their watery graves...

The production stars Ya Han Chang* (Off-Broadway Sayonara; Pan Asian Rep) as Rocky, Charly Dannis (Off-Broadway Fatty Fatty No Friends; Mind The Art/54 Below) as Ellen, Patrick Dunn* (Nat'l Tour Waitress, Graceland's #3 Elvis Impersonator) as Johnny, Rebecca Hoodwin* (Broadway The Pajama Game) as Madam Romanovitch, TarA Martinez (Off-Broadway Travis Tanner the Musical; Soho Playhouse) as Mora, Rick Roemer* (Nat'l Tour Shenandoah) as Captain Murdock, Josh Sassanella* (Broadway Rock of Ages and Spider Man) as Odd Sam, and Kissy Simmons* (Broadway The Lion King; TV: Smash, 30Rock) as Stormy.

The production features scenic design by David Starr (50Cent, Beyonce, Kevin Hart), stage effects designed by Bill Smith's Magic Ventures (Dolly Parton, David Copperfield, Penn & Teller) costume design by Jessa-Raye Court, and lighting design by Chris Steckel. Joan Wyatt is the stage manager.
