Erin Dilly and Randy Redd will star in the New York Musical Theatre Festival's presentation of a developmental reading of The Cousins Grimm, on Monday, September 24 at 4:30PM & 8PM at The 45th Street Theatre.

The Cousins Grimm (formerly Gay Grimms) was a finalist in the Stages 2007 competition in Chicago and 2006 The Eugene O'Neill Theatre Center Music Theatre Conference, is "a new musical about Leon and Jackie, the Cousins Grimm, adapting their ancestors' beloved stories and adding a queer sensibility to them. Jackie is a celebrated lesbian composer/solo artist.  Leon asks her to work with him and she impulsively agrees. Strange and magical things begin to happen as their versions of the tales come to life; including a mysterious and surprising twist to their creative collaboration," explain press notes.

The libretto is written by Ted Sod, whose new musical 27 Rue de Fleurus will be part of Urban Stages 2007-08 season. Music is composed by Dan Martin and lyrics are written by Michael Biello, who collaborated on the musical Breathe, which premiered at Chicago's Bailiwick Theatre and was presented at the 2004 Philadelphia Gay & Lesbian Theatre Festival.  Michael Bush (Totally Based On A True Story, Stormy Weather) directs.

The cast stars Erin Dilly (Chitty, Chitty, Bang, Bang) and Randy Redd (Some Men) opposite Rachel Coloff (Urinetown), Cole Burden (Red Eye Of Love), Jillian Louis (The Piper), Austin Murphy (Gotham City Improv), and Jana Robbins (The Tale Of The Allergist's Wife).

The 45th Street Theatre is located at 354 West 45th Street, New York.  For tickets ($15) visit www.nymf.org or call 212-352-3101.

Now in its 4th year, The New York Musical Theatre Festival is the largest musical theatre event in America.  NYMF premiered 99 new musicals during its first three seasons, with more than a dozen of these shows transferring to successful off-Broadway and regional productions.  NYMF is widely regarded as the premier source for new material and talent discovery.
