Brierpatch Productions' new musical production FROG KISS is an official selection of the New York Musical Theatre Festival's 2010 Next Link Project. This new saucy n' swingin' musical tale of transformation features book and lyrics by Charles Leipart with music composed by Eric Schorr. Frog Kiss will premiere on Thursday, September 30, 2010 at the Theater at St. Clements.

A bedtime story with a bawdy twist, Frog Kiss is based on the Stephen Mitchell novella, The Frog Prince. When a very scientific princess meets a frog, she is determined to turn him into a prince - with the assistance of a troupe of Celestial Tap-Dancing Taoist Masters. Will Clementine get the prince of her dreams, or will she find herself in bed with just another horny toad?

This magical story casts features Curtis Holbrook (Frog) was recently seen in the film Hairspray and on Broadway credits include West Side Story, Xanadu and All Shook Up. Hanley Smith (Princess Clementine) theater credits include regional productions such as A Christmas Carol and Into the Woods and several others. Joseph Dellger (King Frederic) most recently appeared in the national tour of 101 Dalmatians as the Splendid Vet and appeared on Broadway in Elton John musical Lestat and Ragtime. Terry Burrell (Queen Margot) has appeared in the Broadway productions of Thoroughly Modern Millie, Into the Woods and Dreamgirls. Theis Weckesser (Claus) had a recurring role on the ABC's One Life to Live and also was last seen in the film The Producers: Movie Musical. And Manna Nichols (Hortense) boasts a number of regional Theater Productions and will appear in an upcoming Disney live event.

Now in its seventh year, the New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) is the largest annual musical theatre event in America and is widely regarded as the essential source for new material and talent discovery.

Frog Kiss (formerly titled The Frog Prince) was presented at the 2005 International Festival of Musical Theatre in Cardiff and was featured in the "Bound for Broadway V" Concert of New Musicals at Merkin Hall in New York City and was seen at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival that same year.

The creative team for Frog Kiss will feature scenic design by Jesse Poleshuck, costume design by Austin Sanderson, lighting design by Joshua Scherr and sound by Christopher Cronin and Carl Casella. Frog Kiss is directed by Kenneth Roberson with choreography by Lorna Ventura, musical direction by Zane Mark and Orchestrator Daryl Waters and stage and screen actress Tamara Tunie serving as production advisor.

Frog Kiss also will play on Monday, October 4 at 9:00 p.m.; Wednesday, October 6 at 5:00 p.m.; Sunday, October 10 at 7:30 p.m. and Monday, October 11 at 1:00 p.m. Member tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at www.nymf.org.
