SOMEWHERE OVER THE ROSE, singer and cabaret artist Kathy Halenda's tribute to the songs, lives and iconic talents of Judy Garland and Bette Midler, will play for two performances only on May 20 and 21, 2016 at Richmond Triangle Players theater in Scott's Addition. Performances are at 8 pm.

A professional actor and singer for thirty-some years, Kathy has performed in over 200 productions, including eighteen national tours where her roles included Mama Rose in Gypsy, Mae West in Ziegfeld, Rafaela in Grand Hotel, Golde in Fiddler on the Roof, Nancy in Oliver and Maggie Jones in 42nd St. She most recently appeared (and stopped the show every performances) in Virginia Repertory Theatre's production of Croaker: The Frog Prince Musical.

She has played New York City, Washington D.C., Boston, Las Vegas, New Orleans, Montreal, Atlantic City, Los Angeles, and a lot of towns in between. Her extensive regional credits include the title roles in Mame (twice), Hello Dolly (twice), Evita and Annie Get Your Gun, as well as Mae West/Jo in Dirty Blonde, Mama Rose in Gypsy (four times), Miss Mona in The Best Lil' Whorehouse in Texas (five times!), Nancy in Oliver, Miss Hannigan in Annie, and The Plant in Little Shop of Horrors.

All performances will take place at Richmond Triangle Players' theater at 1300 Altamont Avenue, just northwest of the intersection of the Boulevard and West Broad Street. Reserved cabaret-style seating ($25 per ticket) can be purchased online at RTP's web site at www.rtriangle.org, on RTP's facebook page, or by leaving a message on the RTP Ticket hotline at 804-346-8113.

RTP's theater at 1300 Altamont Avenue is a 4000-square foot performing arts facility accommodating flexible seating arrangements for up to 90 patrons. The building features fully ADA-compliant access and comfortable restrooms, as well as a generous bar, and catering capability, and is also available for cabaret performances and private events.
