AUDITIONS - You're a Good Man Charlie Brown - The Musical
ANNOUNCEMENT:
Woodbury Community Theatre is pleased to announce auditions for “You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown.” YOU’RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN (Revised) is a fresh approach to the all-time 1967 classic. Sally Brown joins Charlie Brown, Linus, Lucy, Schroeder and Snoopy in this version. Two new songs, Beethoven Day and My New Philosophy, have been added to the twelve wonderful numbers of the original version, such as My Blanket and Me, The Kite, The Baseball Game, Little Known Facts, Suppertime and Happiness.
Cast Needs:
- Gorden Hedahl will be directing an adult cast of 6 (20 years and older): Sally Brown; Lucy Van Pelt; Snoopy; Schroeder; Charlie Brown; Linus Van Pelt
- Ezelda Hasapopoulos & Tami Provencher will be directing a youth ensemble of up to 40 youth, ages 6 to 12 years old, who will be double cast so that each group performs only one of the two weekends.
Auditions at Merrill Community Arts Center - Rivertown Campus:
- Monday, May 18 - 6:00pm to 10:00pm
- Tuesday, May 19h - 6:00pm to 10:00pm
- Wednesday, May 20 - Callbacks @ 6:00pm
Performances in the Loft Stage @ East Ridge High School:
- Fridays & Saturdays, July 24, 25 and 31 and August 1 at 7:00pm
- Sundays, July 26 and August 2 at 2:00pm
- Thursday, July 30 – special 1pm performance for child care and senior centers
Rehearsals:
- Rehearsals at Rivertown: June 8-July 3
- Rehearsals at the Loft Stage: July 6-July 23
Audition Information
- Please arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled time, and prepare to stay 30 minutes past your time.
- Bring with you a completed audition form which is available
HERE.
- Be sure to list ALL conflicts on your audition form.
- Bring sheet music and be prepared to sing at least 32 bars of a short, up-tempo, energetic song that showcases your vocal strengths. Also, be prepared to sing scales. (If needed, sheet music can be found online at
musicnotes.com and at
sheetmusicplus.com.)
- Bring also a photo (that you don’t want back). School photos and “selfies” are just fine J
- People will be notified if they are being called back. NOT being called back does not mean you are not cast. Often times, only certain parts need callbacks. We will let all auditioners know the results via email no later than December 13.
