WAIST WATCHERS THE MUSICAL - The PGA Playhouse at the PGA Cinemas

WHAT: WAISTWATCHERS THE MUSCIAL AUDITIONS
Please prepare a 1-minute comedic monologue and an up-tempo song of
your choice (Broadway or pop – whichever you’d prefer). An accompanist will be provided. Please bring sheet music.

WHEN: Monday and Tuesday October 10th and 11th from 10am-6pm

WHERE: The PGA Playhouse at the PGA Cinemas:

WHO: Female performers both union and non-union are welcomed to audition.

WHAT ELSE: First Rehearsal is scheduled for Tuesday, January 3rd with a Thursday,
January 19th opening. A six (6) week run is scheduled with potential
for an extension and open ended run.
The production will run at The PGA Playhouse at the PGA Cinemas
Compensation will be $550 a week for Non-Equity performers and $550 a week for Equity performers under an LOA.
In attendance will be Matt Silva, Director and Alan Jacobson, Author.

CARLA (age 35-50) – Carla is the owner and trainer of Miss Cook’s Women’s Gym. Carla is a high energy and enthusiastic personal trainer that guides the other 3 women through a series of workouts throughout her one-week boot camp. Carla has three insatiable passions: working out, chocolate, and younger men! The role requires a trained performer that is a very strong singer and dancer that also has strong comedic timing and instinct.

CHERYL (age 35-50) – Cheryl is a businesswoman with a husband and one child. Cheryl is focused on her career, sharp, funny, and practical. Cheryl’s husband has recently discovered viagra and has rediscovered his desire for her, this results in Cheryl becoming pregnant and trying to find ways to balance her career and a new baby. The role requires a trained performer that is a very strong singer and dancer that also has strong comedic timing and instinct.

CONNIE (age 35-55) – Connie has come to the gym to feel sexy again. Having been married for years and raising two children, she has lost control of her eating habits. While she was never skinny, Connie has gotten to a point where she no longer wants to feel like she isn’t in control of her health. Connie has an acerbic and direct sense of humor. This character sings the show’s 11th hour number and has to have a very strong belt. The role requires a trained performer that is a very strong singer and dancer that also has strong comedic timing and instinct.

CINDY (age 35-55) – Cindy is a flighty woman who has recently discovered that her husband has been cheating on her. She is coming back to the gym to work her body back into shape so that she compete with the “21-year-old bimbo” that her husband has left her for. Cindy is also looking for a job now that she is newly single. The role requires a trained performer that is a very strong singer and dancer that also has strong comedic timing and instinct.
