AUDITION NOTICE

Terrace Plaza Playhouse, 99 E 4700 S, Ogden, will be holding auditions for their production of:

WIZARD OF OZ

Audition: 29 March 2014

Time: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

9:00 am – noon, in the playhouse rehearsal hall. The role of Dorothy,Glinda, and the Wicked Witch have been filled. Prepare 16 bars of Broadway style song. Callbacks are by invitation only.

When a tornado rips through Kansas, Dorothy (Judy Garland) and her dog, Toto, are whisked away in their house to the magical land of Oz. They follow the Yellow Brick Road toward the Emerald City to meet the Wizard, and en route they meet a Scarecrow (Ray Bolger) that needs a brain, a Tin Man (Jack Haley) missing a heart, and a Cowardly Lion (Bert Lahr) who wants courage. The wizard asks the group to bring him the broom of the Wicked Witch of the West (Margaret Hamilton) to earn his help.

WIZARD OF OZ runs June 13 – July 26, 2014 Friday, Saturday and Mondayevenings. Rehearsals will generally be Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings – with added rehearsals two weeks prior to opening.

UNCLE HENRY – 35-60 - Middle aged Kansas farmer

AUNT EM – 30-60 Wife of Henry, tired and worn. Absolutley loves Dorothy, but does not understand her.

SCARECROW – 17-50 – Wishes he had a brain

TIN WOODSMAN – 17-50 – wishes he had a heart

COWARDLY LION – 17-50 – wishes he had courage

WIZARD OF OZ – 30-60 – The great and powerful

MUNCHKINS – 8-15 – residents of Munchkin Land. Includes a Munchkin Mayor and a Munchkin Coroner, The Lollypop Guild and Lullaby League

CHORUS – 8-60 - residents of Oz, Witches Guards and other characters
