Theatre Charleston to Host Sixth Annual Unified Auditions
Theatre Charleston is pleased to announce our Unified Auditions for the upcoming 2014-2015 season. On April 12th, dozens of Charleston's top theatre directors and producers will gather to search for actors to help fill hundreds of roles. While past auditions have focused solely on actors, Theatre Charleston is also including a technical aspect to the Unifieds this season. This unique annual event allows local actors, designers, and technicians to showcase their talents in a professional audition setting for a variety of theatres throughout the Lowcountry. Whether you're new to theatre or a veteran of the stage Theatre Charleston wants to see you!
Audition slots are on a first come, first serve basis and you must be at least 16 years old with a Theatre Charleston Individual Membership. Memberships are only $25 and include a variety of benefits such as discounts, invitations to special events, and much more! Actors are given 90 seconds to use as they wish and typically perform a monologue or a monologue and song. An accomplished accompanist will be provided. Audition applications can be downloaded at

Participating theatres include but are not limited to Village Repertory Co., Threshold Repertory Co., South of Broadway Theatre Co., PURE Theatre, Midtown Productions, Footlight Players, Flowertown Players, Deuce Theatre, SPROUTS Childrens Theatre, Black Fedora Comedy Mystery Theatre, Art Forms and Theatre Concepts, and Actors’ Theatre of SC.
Actors and technicians of all experience levels are welcome to attend. There will be a special Unified Auditions workshop/Q&A session held on Saturday, March 22nd, 1:30pm at the South of Broadway studios. This workshop is free and open to the public and will cover what to expect at the Unifieds, how to complete the application process, and how to prepare.

The League of Charleston Theatres, dba Theatre Charleston, is an alliance of theatre organizations created to support, advocate and promote Charleston’s theatre industry both locally and nationally. The mission of the League is to promote awareness and visibility for live theatre in the Charleston area, and provide services that strengthen the operations of both the member theatres and performing arts organizations in general. The League will serve as a forum for its members to address common concerns and as a vehicle for collective action.
