ROLES
Seeking actors of all ethnicities.
Jonathan: Male, mid 20s-40 - Pop-rock bari-tenor. A struggling composer on the brink of his 30th birthday; Strong narrator. A music geek with awkward tendencies; self reflective. Michael’s roommate and Susan's boyfriend; ability to play piano and/or dance experience a plus but not required.
Michael: Male, late 20s-early 30s - Warm bari-tenor, full voice to an F. Jonathan's best friend from childhood; helpful, kind, funny, successful. Also doubles multiple roles.
Susan: Female, 25-35 - Strong belt A flat to D; Jonathan's girlfriend; uninhibited and dynamic; nurturing, loving and supportive but growing increasingly frustrated with Jonathan's pre-occupation and lack of commitment. Same actress plays a number of additional character roles requiring terrific comic timing. A dancer or strong mover preferred.
ARRANGEMENT
All roles in TICK TICK BOOM are paid. Non-equity, EMC, and union guest artist contracts will be considered. Housing may be available as needed.
PAST AND NEW PERFORMERS
Those who have performed with PRiMA in the past should audition in order to be considered. Performers new to PRiMA are also highly welcome.
WHAT TO BRING
- Sheet music (pianist is provided)
- Prepare 32 measures from each of two contrasting pieces
- Also prepare 32 measures from two songs from TICK TICK BOOM
- Headshot and resume
VIDEO SUBMISSIONS
There's nothing like seeing you in person, but if you are unable to attend the audition, you are welcome to send a video with your headshot and resume to casting@primatheatre.org.
All videos must be submitted before December 9.
