THE MARIN MUSIC CHEST SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM - The Marin Music Chest

Scholarship opportunity for Marin County students studying classical music



The Marin Music Chest is accepting applications for its annual scholarship program which provides financial support to Marin County students of classical music.

Students studying woodwinds, brass and string instruments, piano, percussion, and voice are encouraged to apply.
Scholarship applicants must have at least two years of music study prior to the audition and be residents of Marin County for a minimum of two years.
Junior Division instrumentalists must be between 10 and 13 years of age and vocalists between 14 and 16 years of age. The Junior Division application deadline is Feb. 14, 2015, auditions will be held March 14, 2015.

Senior Division instrumentalists must be between 14 and 19 years of age and vocalists between 17 and 24 years of age. The Senior Division application deadline is Feb. 28, 2015, auditions will be held on March 28, 2015.

Junior and Senior Applicants will perform a required piece and one piece of their choice.

All scholarship recipients will be required to perform in the Marin Music Chest Scholarship Winners’ Concert presented at San Domenico School in San Anselmo on Sunday, May 3, 2015.

The Marin Music Chest is a private, non-profit organization staffed by an all-volunteer Board of Directors with an extensive musical background, as well as an Artistic Council with professional backgrounds in music. The Artistic Council plays a key role in the scholarship awards process. Both groups are dedicated to supporting the mission of the Marin Music Chest to foster a greater interest, appreciation and support of classical music and young musicians in Marin County.
