STANDING ON CEREMONY: The Gay Marriage Plays - West Coast Players
West Coast Players will hold auditions Sunday April 19th and Monday April 20th, 2015 at 7 pm for STANDING ON CEREMONY: The Gay Marriage Plays by Mo Gaffney, Jordan Harrison, Moisés Kaufman, Neil LaBute, Wendy MacLeod, José Rivera,Paul Rudnick, and Doug Wright Conceived by Brian Shnipper. Director Donna Donnelly will be looking for 6 men and 5 women, age range 20’s through 60’s for this heartwarming gem. Auditions will be cold readings from the script. No performers paid. Production dates are June 5 – 21, 2015. Play Synopsis: Perhaps more than any other current controversy, same-sex marriage has been discussed and debated in state legislatures, classrooms, courtrooms and across dining room tables throughout the country. STANDING ON CEREMONY brings the issue down to the human level with laughter and just a few tears. The play not only addresses gay marriage but also celebrates all individuals who commit to a life-long journey together. Characters: The play is a series of vignettes, so each actor may play a variety of roles. All actors must excel in drama and comedy.
