The Wilton Playshop Announces Auditions for February 2015 production of She Loves Me

Fairfield County Theater to present classic musical by creators of Fiddler on the Roof

The Wilton Playshop is proud to announce auditions for its second production of the 2014-2015 season, She Loves Me. Audition dates are November 30th and December 1st at 7:00p.m. at the Wilton Playshop on 15 Lovers Lane, Wilton, CT. She Loves Me, with a book by Joe Masteroff, lyrics by Sheldon Harnick and music by Jerry Bock, will be directed by Marcia Maslo (Fairfield) with music direction by Dan Ringuette (Torrington) and choreography by Todd Santa Maria (Cheshire).

She Loves Me showcases a strong ensemble cast playing a range of memorable characters of all ages. Auditioners must bring sheet music with them and be prepared to sing 32 bars, but no more than one minute, of a fully memorized Broadway-style musical selection that showcases their vocal range. It is preferable not to use music from She Loves Me for your audition. Auditioners should mark their selection with a highlighter. An accompanist will be provided. A cappella singing, or recorded accompaniment will not be allowed. A short dance combination will be taught, and auditioners will be asked to read from the script.

She Loves Me is a warm romantic comedy with an endearing innocence and a touch of old world elegance. Set in a 1930’s European perfumery, we meet shop clerks Amalia and Georg, who more often than not, don’t see eye to eye. After both respond to a “lonely hearts advertisement” in the newspaper, they now live for the love letters they exchange, but the identity of their admirers remains unknown. Discover with Amalia and Georg the identity of their true loves and all the twists and turns along the way!
