The Arvada Center announces auditions for the musical She Loves Me
The Arvada Center will hold auditions for the musical, She Loves Me at the Arvada Center, 6901 Wadsworth Blvd., on July 31 and August 1 (Chorus Dance Call on July 29). The Arvada Center production will be directed by Gavin Mayer with musical direction by David Nehls and choreography by Kitty Skillman Hilsabeck. The Arvada Center Artistic Producer is Rod A. Lansberry.
Adult Principal and Chorus:
Colorado Principal/Chorus auditions are on July 31 and August 1, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., by appointment only. The Women’s Chorus Dance call is 2 p.m. to 3:15 p.m., and Men’s Chorus Dance call is 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on July 29. All dance calls are by appointment only and dancers may be asked to sing. Call the Arvada Center Box Office at 720-898-7200 to schedule an appointment time. Please do not contact the production staff to schedule an appointment. Actors must be 18 years & older to audition.
General Audition Requirements:
Experienced performers with strong acting and singing abilities are needed. Good movement abilities are required. See the character breakdown (below) for specifics on available roles. Actors should prepare 16-32 bars from a song appropriate to the style of show. Please bring sheet music; an accompanist will be provided. Recorded music or a cappella audition will eliminate casting consideration. A current headshot and résumé are required. Audio and video submissions will not be considered. Equity members must have a current equity ID card. This is an Equity LORT B production, non-equity actors will be considered. Individuals of all ethnic and cultural backgrounds are needed and encouraged to audition for all roles.
Rehearsal and Performance Dates:
Rehearsals for She Loves Me begin on November 4, 2014. The production opens on November 24and runs through December 21, 2014. Performances are Tuesday through Saturday evenings with matinees on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays for a total of eight shows per week.

Character Breakdown
Amalia Balash (Soprano: Range: C4 - B5) to play 25 – 35: The eager new employee at Maraczek's Parfumerie, Attractive, personable, but a tad shy. Despite being a skilled saleswoman, she easily becomes intimidated and nervous. A little too sharp for her own good? A dreamer with the ability to take charge. Attractive, bright, and a lover of literature.
Georg Nowack (Baritone, Range: B2 - F4) To play 25-45: An established employee of Maraczek's Parfumerie, he resembles a hopeless romantic. Soft-spoken, well read, personable, and strong. Shy and intelligent. A respected colleague and citizen.
Ilona Ritter (Mezzo-Soprano Range: F#3 - E5) to play 35-45: A woman experienced in both life and men. A bit weary, but enjoys the mentor role. Employed at Maraczek's Parfumerie, sexy and learned in the ways of romance, but longing for something more from the game of love.
Steven Kodaly (High Baritone/Tenor Range: B2 - A4) to play 35-50: A handsome ladies’ man. Well respected and liked employee at Maraczek's Parfumerie. Though he is considered dapper and occasionally charming, he is more of a shallow womanizer with the charm to stay out of trouble.
Ladislav Sipos (Baritone Range: A2 - E4) to play 40+: Family man stuck in a dull existence. Very agreeable, a friend to all. Not the brightest employee at Maraczek's Parfumerie. A confidant to Georg, he is an optimistic family man who looks like a huggable father.
Mr. Maraczek (Baritone, Range: B2 - C4) to play 50+: Owner of Maraczek's Parfumerie, with a commanding presence. A disciplined businessman. A stubborn perfectionist who runs a tight shop. His dedication to the trade is rivaled only by his faithfulness to his wife.
Arpad Laszlo (Tenor, Range: Bb2 - E4) to play 18 -25: Bright young delivery boy at Maraczek's Parfumerie. His exuberance is infectious and commitment to his job remarkable. Ambitious, studious, and adorable.
Waiter (Tenor/Bari–Tenor) to play 25+: The Headwaiter and a proud man with a singular goal. A slightly androgynous, flamboyant cafe manager who runs a tight ship and expects discretion and efficiency for his patrons. Male, indeterminate age Range: Baritone-Tenor (comic).
Busboy to play 18+: A dancer at a romantic restaurant.
Mr. Keller to play 25+: a private investigator with an important secret.
Ensemble: Three women and three men. Customers and patrons of Maraczek’s Parfumerie and Café Imperiale.
