in Elmsford, NY.

Rehearsals begin February 3rd and will be held in during the day,Monday through Saturday in NYC and at The Westchester Broadway Theatre.

APPOINTMENT ONLY procedures in effect for Westchester auditions.

There will be a non-equity monitor. Singers please prepare 16 bars appropriate for the show. Bring sheet music in the correct key. An accompanist will be provided.

There will be NO dance call at this audition.

Auditions are open to actors from all ethnic groups.

[SARAH] Female, African-American, early to mid 20s. Passionate and headstrong, but also reserved and innocent. Lyric Soprano with strong mix (range: low G# to high F# on staff)

[COALHOUSE WALKER, JR.] Male, African-American, mid-20s to early 30s. Soaring lyric baritone. CAST - SEEKING UNDERSTUDY ONLY.

[TATEH] Male, Caucasian, mid-20s - mid-30s. After his wife dies, he leaves Latvia and comes to the United States in search of a new life for his daughter. A passionate artist, we see his ascent as he becomes a prominent filmmaker - symbolic of the America of which he dreamt. Baritenor - Db to high F#. CAST - SEEKING UNDERSTUDY ONLY.

[MOTHER] Female, Caucasian, late 20s - early 30s. Caught between two worlds Lyric Soprano/Mezzo with powerful mix - low G to high Eb. CAST - SEEKING UNDERSTUDY ONLY.

[EVELYN NESBITT] Female, Caucasian, 20s. The most beautiful woman in America. Mezzo to high D. CAST - SEEKING UNDERSTUDY ONLY.

[FATHER] Male, Caucasian, early 30s - early 40s. An amateur explorer, he is in search of something beyond what he can see. Leading man baritone with powerful and rich singing voice, B to E.

[YOUNGER BROTHER] Male, Caucasian, early 20s. Mother's younger brother who searches for his place in the world, seeking to make a difference as we approach a new era. Baritenor with strong top (to F#).

[GRANDFATHER] Male, Caucasian, 50-60. Formerly a professor of Greek and Latin he is thoroughly irritated with everything. Character singer/no solo singing.

[SARAH'S FRIEND] Female, African-American, 20s-30s. Powerhouse singer with real Gospel technique and tremendous upper register.

[EMMA GOLDMAN] Female, Caucasian, mid 30s to early 50s. Activist and anarchist. A tough, no-nonsense woman who is passionate about her radical views - and supportive of her fellow immigrants. Strong, aggressive alto w/ belt.

[HENRY FORD] Distinct singing voice, with great strength and character nuance. Tenor.

[HARRY HOUDINI] Male, Caucasian, 30s-40s. The legendary magician. Tenor - must have solid high G.

[WILLIE CONKLIN] Male, Caucasian, 20s to early 30s. Must be able to do a strong Irish accent.

[BOOKER T. WASHINGTON] Male, African-American, late 30s to early 50s. The famous author and political leader. STRONG baritone, low C to high Eb.

[JP MORGAN] Male, Caucasian, late 30s and up. The wealthiest man in the world. Rich character baritone.

[MALE ENSEMBLE]

[THE LITTLE BOY] Male, Caucasian, 7 to 13 years old, unchanged voice. Precocious and engaging.

[THE LITTLE GIRL] Female, Caucasian (eastern European), 8 to 14 years old - small and fragile.
