AUDITION DETAILS

Principals: 10 total: 5W & 5M, ages 18 and up Ensemble: 12 total: 6W and 6M, ages 18 and up

For the first two days of auditions: June 13th & 14th, we will be asking auditioners to sing and dance only.

You need attend only one of those dates, either Tuesday or Wednesday, but we do ask that you keep Thursday, June 15th open for callbacks. If called back, auditioners will be given a portion of a scene or song to perform. If you are not called back, don’t worry! That just means we have seen what we need to see, nothing more.

On June 13th & 14th, auditioners should present a short, prepared song of their choice; select something that showcases your ability to both sing and act in the style of Nice Work. Rehearsal accompanist will be provided, so please bring sheet music with proper notations in the proper key for your accompanist (no acapella please). When not singing, auditioners will be learning a dance combination onstage. When everyone has had a chance to sing, you will then perform your dance combination in small groups. After general auditions, we will contact those we would like to see at callbacks on June 15th.

Nice Work is One of Broadway’s most successful cocktails: mix George and Ira Gershwin music with upper-class snobs and comic crooks, add plenty of 1920s bathtub gin, stir wildly, and you have a stage filled with delightful nonsense loaded with great music, dancing, and comedy. “Someone to Watch Over Me,” “Fascinating Rhythm,” “‘s Wonderful,” and 20 others. For audiences 13 and up.

Auditions are open to the public and newcomers are welcome. Link here for the
