All parts open. Actors of all experience levels are welcome. Please see character descriptions
below.

Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script.


Rehearsal Schedule:
First reading - Monday, April 7th
from 6:30 – 9:00 PM
First rehearsal - Monday, April 28th
from 6:30 – 9:30 PM

Performance Dates: June 20, 21, 22, 27, 28, 29.



Cast of Characters

Don Pedro, Prince of Aragon. Recently victorious and returning to Messina after the conclusion of the
war. 40s-50s.

Benedick, of Padua, a lord and companion of Don Pedro. Romantically conflicting with Beatrice. Mid
30s-40s.

Claudio, of Florence, a lord and companion of Don Pedro. Romantically involved with Hero. Variable
age.

Balthasar, attendant on Don Pedro, a singer. Variable age.

Don John, the bastard brother of Don Pedro. A villain, and hateful of his brother. 20s-50s.

Borachio, a follower of Don John and a scoundrel. 20s-40s.

Conrad, a follower of Don John and a ruffian. Variable age.

Leonato, Governor of Messina. Father of Hero and uncle to Beatrice. 50s-60s.

Hero, daughter of Leonato. Romantically involved with Claudio. Late teens through twenties.

Beatrice, an orphan, niece to Leonato. Romantically conflicting with Benedick. Mid 30s-40s.

Antonio, an old man, brother of Leonato. 50+

Margaret, a waiting-gentlewoman attendant on Hero. Variable age.

Ursula, a waiting-gentlewoman attendant on Hero. Variable age.

Friar Francis, a Friar. 40+.

Dogberry, the Constable in charge of the Watch. An idiot. Variable age.

Verges, the Headborough, Dogberry’s partner. The one handling Dogberry’s job. Variable age.
