AUDITION NOTICE – POSSUM POINT PLAYERS CHRISTMAS SHOW “HOLLYWOOD HOLIDAY”
Possum Point Players and director Donna deKuyper are looking for actors (there are non-singing roles), singers and dancers of all ages and ethnicities to help bring Possum Point Players’ “Hollywood Holiday” to life! Audition dates are Sunday Sept. 21at 5pm and Monday Sept 22 at 7pm in Possum Hall, 441 Old Laurel Road in Georgetown.
Auditioners are asked to please prepare a song fromthe 1960s or a standard holiday song. An accompanist will be provided, as well as a CDplayer.

Imagine it’s about 1967 and Ed Sullivan, who hasnever done his show anywhere else, is asked toleave the Ed Sullivan Studios in NYC to do aChristmas time special in Hollywood for the firsttime. He’s not happy about it. But, there’s a surprisewaiting for him there, along with lots of celebritiesfrom that era including co-host Phyllis Diller, The RatPack, The Supremes, The Temptations, Elvis,Goldie Hawn, and many more. The audience willsee what goes on backstage at a rehearsal, as wellas become part of the action, just like a real livetelevision studio audience did at that time. It’s sureto be a very memorable “Hollywood Holiday”.
DeKuyper is not looking for impersonators in the theatrical sense of the word. “We don’t expect spot-on imitations, but rather a suggestion of thecelebrities through their music, and the magic ofcostumes and make up,” she says.
“Hollywood Holiday” is an original Possum showconceived, written and directed by Donna deKuyper, with Jim Hartzell as assistant director, choreography by Deni Robinson and musical direction by Barry Eli.
