The Hampton Theatre Company will hold open auditions for two of the four roles in “God of Carnage," Yasmina Reza's Olivier Award-winning volatile comedy that reveals how quickly and disastrously the thin veneer of civility can be stripped away when two sets of parents attempt to discuss a confrontation between their sons.

Auditions will be held on Sunday and Monday, March 23 and 24, from 6-8 p.m. at the Quogue Community Hall, 125 Jessup Avenue in Quogue. Both union and non-union actors are invited to attend.

The roles of Alan Raleigh and Annette Raleigh have been cast. Available roles are: Michael Novak: (40s-50s) a wholesaler whose self-esteem is based on his success in business, which compensates for his lack of sophistication; and Veronica Novak: (40s) a liberal Brooklyn writer whose social conscience drives her to raise awareness about the genocide in Darfur.

Rehearsals for “God of Carnage" begin in mid-April, with performances running from May 22 through June 8, on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons at the Quogue Community Hall. Diana Marbury directs.

Readings will be from the script. No monologue or appointment is necessary.
