FOR: Midtown International Music Festival, New York, July 31-Aug 6; Hartford, CT. shows, July 23 – 31; and all preparation and rehearsals leading up to performance weeks.
WHEN: Various Hours/Dates – through August 6, 2017 and beyond.
WHERE: Auditions and rehearsals are held principally at our studios in East Hartford, CT. However, when more convenient, rehearsals may be scheduled in New York City.
COMPENSATION: $-$$ negotiable (but modest)

JOB DESCRIPTION: The chorographer/director will work closely with the composer/librettist in designing and staging Dreamsinger as an engaging, dynamic, entertaining and visually stimulating musical. The C/D is responsible for auditioning and rehearsing singers, blocking, dance and movement, dramatic interpretation, as well as other traditional functions. The C/D, in association with the Musical Director (MD), will plan for and run efficient productive rehearsals.
The choreographer/director will have knowledge of contemporary dance styles and will have creative, visually interesting solutions for featured and supportive choreography. The C/D will work well with performers and crew, setting the tone for collaborative work in a friendly supportive atmosphere. At the same time, the C/D will insist on professionalism and task-oriented work from all.
In addition, the C/D will actively promote Dreamsinger among social and personal networks and actively contribute to audience development.
