GLIMMERGLASS FESTIVAL YOUNG ARTISTS PROGRAM - Glimmerglass Festival

The Glimmerglass Festival will hold musical theater auditions for Male Singer/Dancers for its 2014 Young Artists Program in Boston on March 24, 2014. To request an audition, please e-mail a headshot and resume to: yap_info@glimmerglass.org.

Those auditioning should be prepared with two contrasting songs from the Golden Age of musicals. If the performer has advanced vocal training, one of the songs can be an aria/art song. There will be a dance call back following the singing audition. Men should bring character shoes or jazz sneakers and the women should have both character shoes and ballet slippers.

Glimmerglass Festival Young Artists have the opportunity to perform and cover roles in mainstage productions, as well as perform in the Meet Me at the Pavilion series. Young Artists also have the opportunity to work with 2014 Artist in Residence Christine Goerke. Artists in Residence have included Deborah Voigt, Eric Owens, Julie and Nathan Gunn.

Applicants must be United States citizens or have the right to work in the United States. Non-U.S. citizens must send a photocopy of documentary proof of right to work (Note: Canadians may gain the right to work by joining Canadian Federation of Musicians and applying for a P2 Visa. This process is completed after successfully securing a contract with The Glimmerglass Festival and will be done at your own expense).

Young Artists are provided with a weekly stipend, housing and meals. They receive regular musical coaching and have the opportunity to perform in a series of concerts throughout the season. Please note that The Glimmerglass Festival is located in a rural environment and subject to allergens and pollen.
