DESCRIPTION
We are looking for strong actors who sing for a staged reading of a new play, AMERICA IS HARD TO SEE, produced by the award-winning Life Jacket Theatre Company (from the company that brought you GOREY – a Critic’s Pick by the NYTimes & Time Out NY; nominated for seven 2016 New York Innovative Theatre Awards).
Based on interviews and archival research, this groundbreaking play by Travis Russ investigates Miracle Village, a religious rural community for convicted sex offenders, buried deep in Florida's sugarcane fields. For more information visit:

We are looking for a cohesive company of actors who will portray multiple characters and sing at various points in the play. The songs range from original folk/indie songs based on actual interview transcripts to traditional religious hymns. Actors must be able to sing with simplicity, warmth, and sincerity as well as in harmony.

Invited Showing: March 19, 12pm-2pm
A detailed call schedule will be distributed to the cast before the first rehearsal.
