BLUE STATE PRODUCTIONS ANNOUNCES AUDITIONS
Blue State Productions, in residence at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Clifton NJ, will be holding an open casting call for the musical ALTAR BOYZ. The show is a musical comedy about a fictitious Christian boy-band on their last night of their 'Raise the Praise' tour. The show requires tight harmonies and sharp choreography for the singing/dancing heartthrobs Matthew, Mark, Luke, Juan and Abraham.
Casting: 'boy band' performers with a look for the age range of 20's, who can bring a strong comedic ability with an MTV-ready look of a boy band. Interested candidates should email us (
BlueStateTheater@AOL.com) for a detailed audition description that includes vocal ranges. Those auditioning need to come prepared with one song that showcases their talent, not necessarily from the show. Bring own sheet music in your proper key. There will be no ocappella and no transposition of music at the audition. All candidates need to be prepared to move as their will be a dance audition also.
Characters include:
Matthew, The leader - heartthrob looks.
Mark, The sensitive one - smaller stature, innocent.
luke, The bad boy - jock/tough guy look
Juan, the latin lover - Suave, charming, stereotypical Hispanic accent.
Abraham, The gefelte fish out of water.
Auditions will be held on Saturday, August 23 from 3 - 6pm & Monday, August 25 from 6:30 - 8:30pm. Performances are October 9 - 19 (5 performances). Auditions/Performances will take place on the stage at St. Peter's. 380 Clifton Ave., Clifton NJ. Visit our web site at
