Auditions for ALMOST, MAINE at Town Players

Town Players of Newtown announces auditions for ALMOST, MAINE by John Cariani on Sunday and Monday, October 2 & 3, from 7-9 PM.

Premiering at the Portland Stage Company in Portland, Maine in 2004, ALMOST, MAINE is comprised of nine vignettes that explore love and loss. The quirky approach to the delights and dangers of romance take place in a remote, mythical “almost-town” called Almost, Maine.

The New York Times said, “This is a beautifully structured play, with nifty surprise endings (most but not all of them happy) and passing references to characters from other vignettes, which slyly tell us more about them.”

Terry Sagedy of Newtown will direct.

The production calls for men and women of various ages. If possible, actors should read the play in advance and be ready to read sides from the script. No appointment is necessary. All roles are available, and some actors may be double cast. Character descriptions are available at
newtownplayers.org.

Rehearsals begin in October, and the production runs Friday and Saturday evenings,November 18 – December 10, with two Sunday matinees.

Auditions will take place at The Little Theatre, 18 Orchard Hill Road, Newtown.
