Auditions for Adopt A Sailor at Mix Studio Theater
Emergent Arts, resident theatre company at The Mix Studio Theater in Ypsilanti, MI, will hold auditions July 8 & 9 at 7pm at the theater for the drama Adopt A Sailor by Charles Evered. Paul Bianchi will direct. Auditions will be by cold reading from the script, which is on-line at http://www.broadwayplaypubl.com/ADOPT A SAILOR.pdf.
Performances will be September 3 - 21, opening Wednesday, then running Thursdays - Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 2pm.
Roles are: Sailor: Early twenties, from Arkansas; Richard: A filmmaker in New York married to Patricia; Patricia: A gallery owner. Richard and Patricia can be any age 40+
Adopt A Sailor is a fascinating look at events of 911 through three unique viewpoints. A sophisticated New York couple inadvertently sign up to “adopt a sailor,” during Fleet Week, only to have completely forgotten it by the time he shows up at their door. Over an evening meal the strangers open up in unexpected ways to each other, and to the changed world that waits outside their door.
