Auditions for A Nice Family Gathering By Phil Olson
The Windham Theatre Guild

Windham Middle School Auditorium Quarry Street, Willimantic

Director: Michele Abbazia. Auditions will consist of readings from the script.

Cast of Characters

Carl - 30s-40s - Middle child, aspiring writer, lacks confidence. He tends to see himself as less than when compared to his big brother, but his parents see him as more than that (though they don't always show it). He is kind, caring, and sarcastic.

Mom - 60s-70s - Very loving, puts on a happy face because she doesn't want her children to worry. A bit confused at times - possibly due to grief, but also possibly her age. She wants the best for all her children.

Dad - 60s-70s - Appears as ghost - comes back to tell his wife just how much he loved her. He has a very tough exterior but a soft interior. He was a hard worker because he wanted to give his family everything. He would've done anything for them.

Michael - 30s-40s - Oldest child, a doctor, all about appearances, very put together - or appears that way. He tries to cover up his downfalls

Jill - 20s -30s - Michael's wife. Beautiful, sweet, and loves the family very much. She is on hormones to help with fertility so she is quite emotional.

Stacy - 20s -30s - Youngest child and most ignored. No one ever really gives Stacy their full attention and she knows it. She is sweet and kind and loves her family, but wishes they would listen more.

Jerry - 50s-70s - Dad's old golfing buddy. Thinks he can make people like him if he makes them laugh.

Show Dates: November 7, 8, 9, 13, 14, 15 & 16, 2014
