2017 REPERTORY SEASON - Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre

Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre is seeking non-Equity actors for our 2017 repertory season of: LOVE'S LABOUR'S LOST, JULIUS CAESAR, MEREDITH WILLSON'S THE MUSIC MAN, and an adaptation for family audiences of THE TAMING OF THE SHREW. All actors in AST's season will appear in more than production, so we are particularly looking for people comfortable with musical theatre as well as classical theatre.

WHEN
Non-Equity Appointment Auditions will be Wednesday, December 14th from 10 am to 5 pm at Ripley Grier studios. If you would like to be considered for an audition, e-mail your headshot and resume to casting@arkshakes.com.

We will also hold Equity EPAs on Tuesday, December 13th from 10 am to 6 pm.

WHAT TO PREPARE
Actors should prepare either two contrasting classical monologues (at least one of which should be from Shakespeare) OR one Shakespeare monologue and sixteen bars of a song in order to be considered for the musical. An accompanist will be provided.

SEASON INFORMATION
Rehearsals for the 2017 season will begin May 16, with the first show opening on June 9. Shows will continue in repertory until July 9. For actors coming from outside of the central Arkansas region, housing will be provided. All acting positions are paid, and actors are eligible to join and earn points in the Equity Membership Candidate program.

AST operates on an U/RTA Tier 1 contract. We will be casting actors of a variety of ages and ethnicities, and are also open to cross-gender casting for some roles in JULIUS CAESAR. All are encouraged to apply.
