AUDITIONS FOR 2016 MURDER MYSTERY/COMEDY WEDDING DINNER THEATRE SEASON UNDERWAY Sunday, November 29, 2015 at 1PM (by appointment)/Thomaston AspenDream Productions CT Longest Running Dinner Theatre Company Director: Janice Luise-Lutkus Creative Consultants: Donald Rondini and Barbara O’Connell Choreographer: Patrick Hearn ABOUT ASPENDREAM PRODUCTIONS AspenDream Productions is a non-union production based in CT since 1996 and is run by Executive Director, Janice Luise-Lutkus. “ADP” presents a regular season of original, musical, scripted interactive murder mystery farces and an Italian Comedy Wedding shows. They travel throughout CT and Western MA. The company has performed in over 72 cities for the past 18 years and performed for over 12,000 guests. They have a company of over 30 artists. PRODUCTION DESCRIPTION Casting 2016 company roles and & replacements for - For Better & For Worse- Comedy Wedding, Holiday Cruising Can Kill You, A Halloween WhoDunnit, Murder is a Family Business, Mob’s Murder Mystery, Class Reunions Can Kill You”. These shows are musical original, interactive/scripted shows that spoof an Italian-American mobster – Uncle Franco and have been running for nearly 20 years. We are now in the midst of the most exciting time….. making preparations for our 2016 Season of AspenDream Productions Comedy Wedding and Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre. We are looking for new cast members to join our touring dinner theatre company. Since we started nearly 20 years ago, we have continued to grow to become the longest running dinner theatre company in Connecticut! We have earned a reputation as the finest interactive comedy wedding and murder mystery troupe in Connecticut. Our productions have tripled in size and we are in demand constantly. ABOUT THE SHOWS: AspenDream Productions produces uniquely written scripted shows. These are not skeleton scripts involving all improv. This is a copywritten formula only done by “ADP”. We have a DJ, dancing, singing, and choreographed dancing. You will interact, eat, and get up close with the guests and bring down the 4th wall. Houses range from 150 to 1,000 guests. We perform for charities, corporations, banquet halls, and private parties. These shows require actors with experience. 95% of our cast has been with us for over a decade. Come join the fun and camaraderie. The shows are very fast paced farces with unique blocking. Sometimes we are on a cruise ship with two decks and other times we are in unique venues in CT and Central and Western MA. Each site is different. You may play a different character depending on the show you are in. In order to cast this collection of unique characters, there is an audition process to determine the very best artists, singers, improvisers and collaborators. AspenDream Productions is looking for those who are witty, work well with others, make positive choices and those that are comfortable speaking to audience members. The goal by the end of the night is for audience members to truly feel like “Uncle Franco’s Family”. Artists must have reliable transportation. We do not stay overnight. REHEARSALS Rehearsals are on Sunday afternoons in Harwinton or Thomaston. Depending on the show you are cast in there are between one and four rehearsals. AUDITION BY APPOINTMENT ONLY To audition, contact Janice@AspenDreamProductions.com. Date of Audition: Sunday, November 29, 2015 starting at 1PM in Thomaston WHAT TO PREPARE Please come prepared with a short comedic monologue but we can accommodate readings from script. Those that are reapplying must wait one year. Ability to sing a plus but not necessary. Singers should bring a CD of an upbeat song but no more than one minute.
