(5/5/2015) - Rattlestick Playwrights Theater and piece by piece productions have announced that Afghanistan, Zimbabwe, America, Kuwait, written and directed byDaniel Talbott, will begin performances Thursday, May 21 at 7pm at The Gym at Judson, 243 Thompson Street. The opening night is set for Tuesday, June 9 at 7pm. The production is scheduled to run through Saturday, June 27.

(5/5/2015) - 'Casterbridge,' based on Thomas Hardy's classic Victorian novel, 'The Mayor of Casterbridge,' is a new musical theater work with book and lyrics by David Willinger and music by Christopher Beste. The 20-character, two-act musical is fairly faithful to Hardy's parable of the spiritual ups and downs of man and features a score inspired by English country music of the period. Theater for the New City will present the piece's world premiere run June 4 to 19, directed by Willinger.

(5/5/2015) - In a landscape where funding for the arts is growing increasingly scarce, the Town Council of Herndon, Virginia recently took decisive action to demonstrate the community's commitment to having a vibrant local arts scene. At a public hearing on Tuesday, April 26th, Mayor Lisa Merkel and the Town Council unanimously passed the Town's FY16 operating budget, which included an amendment to fully fund the grant requests of the Town's four major non-profit arts organizations. Those organizations include the Herndon Council for the Arts, the Herndon Foundation for the Cultural Arts, NextStop Theatre Company and Herndon Community Television.
