Musical Theatre Of New Zealand Announces Details For 2009 Conference And Shows

The main announcement is regarding the Combined South Island meeting in Ashburton on 3 October and also a conference 2010 update. We are also having the MTNZ Executive meeting in Auckland on 10 October, so if you would like anything raised at that meeting please advise your zone rep.

The registrations are starting to trickle in and we really encourage you to register early. We have a cap on the numbers that the Sky City Convention Centre can take for the Masquerade ball, and also the functions at Rydges, so don't leave it till the last minute and register early. We had 300 people attend Timaru, our largest conference thus far and 280 in Hamilton, and we hear through the grapevine "huge" numbers attending, so get in early so you don't miss out. It is our 50th Anniversary, so is a very special conference and AGM, and it would be great to have everyone there to celebrate this milestone in our organisation's history.

We have some fantastic seminars and forums on offer as well and huge thanks to our presenters and panellists for giving up their time and sharing their knowledge and expertise. All the detail for the seminars and forums can be found in the conference registration packs. Zone One and Two Members - with this huge line up of forums and seminars, it is a great opportunity for your members to come to these and learn from some of the best in the business, and at only $20, it is a great opportunity. So please let your members know about the seminars and forums, and conference in general, through your newsletters and websites.

Our first conference registrations came from the South Island - John Herber/NZ Fire Shield and Kathy from Fiordland Players, way down south - so yah for the Mainlanders!

8pm - MTNZ 50th Anniversary Gala Dinner & the John Herber Masquerade Ball at the Sky City Convention Centre - please note the Sky City is a five minute walk from Rydges and transport will be available if the weather is adverse or if you have mobility issues. We will also have people directing you. Formal dress - please come dressed for a ball - traditional or modern - anything goes, and don't forget your mask.

Midnight Masquerade Ball concludes

From 11pm onwards, the bar will be open (and coffee and tea will also be available) at the Rydges Hotel till the small hours

Poster and Programme Competition - don't forget to send in your posters and programmes for the competition - entries close 31 December, the website competition also closes on 31 December.

The Nola Speir Patron's Encouragement Award and MTNZ Merit Awards - time to start thinking about worthy recipients for those awards. Documentation has been posted out and is available on the MTNZ- close off is 31 January 2010.
