Patchwork Players' PINOCCHIO Comes to Rivertown Theaters This Week

(7/2/2015) - Le Petit Theatre wrapped up their 2014-2015 season with crowd pleaser MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG. Music and lyrics written by none other than the amazing Stephen Sondheim, MERRILY tells the story of a one Franklin Shepard (Richard Arnold) and his rise to fame in Hollywood. Sounds like a dream, right? But you see, there's a catch. Frank's road to becoming a great Hollywood producer comes with loss in other areas of his life. He abandons his career as a Broadway musical composer along with his family and friends. Turns out fame and money aren't what bring Frank the happiness that he is looking for.
Southern Rep Theatre & Mid-City Theatre Host City-Wide Auditions Today
(6/27/2015) - Southern Rep Theatre and Mid-City Theatre will host city-wide open auditions for actors, singers, and actor-musicians at Mid-City Theatre (3540 Toulouse Street, New Orleans) today, June 27th from 10AM to 3PM. Parking will be available on the street or in the Theatre parking lot.
Louis Armstrong House Museum and LA State Museum to Present SATCHMO: HIS LIFE IN NEW ORLEANS Exhibit
(6/22/2015) - In an unprecedented collaboration, the Louis Armstrong House Museum in New York City and the Louisiana State Museum in New Orleans have partnered on the exhibit: Satchmo: His Life in New Orleans to tell the story of Louis Armstrong's complex relationship with his hometown. The exhibit will coincide with the 100th anniversary of his first professional gig at Henry Ponce's in New Orleans in 1915.
PETER PAN to Fly Into Rivertown Theaters, 7/16-26

Southern Rep Theatre to Host 4th Annual WORK HARD PLAY HARD, 6/22
(6/17/2015) - Southern Rep has announced that it will host its annual WORK HARD PLAY HARD from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Monday, June 22, 2015 at Il Posto (4607 Dryades Street). WORK HARD PLAY HARD will feature live music, food, an open bar, and a silent auction/raffle of donated items and services from local artists and businesses, with all proceeds benefitting the job creation, professional development and artistic empowerment efforts that are part of Southern Rep's 'New Play Development' mission: 6X6: THE PLAY SLAM, and 3X3: THE ONE ACTS. Tickets are $10 at the door.
Southern Rep Theatre Extends Lisa D'Amour's DETROIT
(6/15/2015) - In response to overwhelming public demand and positive critical reception, Southern Rep Theatre is pleased to announce it will extend the run for its current production, DETROIT, by Lisa D'Amour, at the Ashe Power House Theater, 1731 Baronne Street. The extension will add an additional four performances to DETROIT's schedule: Thursday, June 25 - Saturday, June 27 at 8PM, plus a special Saturday matinee at 3PM on June 27. There will be NO Sunday matinee.
