(8/31/2014) - Kaleidoscope Theatre for Youth at the Summit Playhouse has announced auditions for the NJ premiere of The Hundred Dresses. This new musical, based on the children's book by Eleanor Estes, was written by playwright G. Riley Mills and composer Ralph Covert, both of whom are involved in this brand new production which will feature age appropriate actors in the youth roles and will expand the cast size to feature a small ensemble.

(8/30/2014) - Cape May's own and Philadelphia favorite, Jeff Coon, is co?creating and hosting three unique, cabaret?style variety shows for shore audiences at the Cape May Convention Hall this summer. These shows titled, An Evening at the Cape May Summer Club, are being co?created with Ree Carney Dunphy. Dunphy is known for assisting in creating and operating Carney's, the legendary pub on the University of Philadelphia's campus, and the famous Carney's Restaurant and Bar in Cape May, New Jersey. In addition, Dunphy plays a pivotal role with the American Cancer Society and is a co?creator of the black tie event, the BasketBall, one of Philadelphia's premiere social events.

(8/28/2014) - Bucks County Playhouse Producers Robyn Goodman and Alexander Fraser announce the launch of a musical theatre development program focusing on the importance of lyrics in the creation of new musicals: The Oscar Hammerstein Festival - named in honor of the master writer whose countless accomplishments during his illustrious career include having mentored a young Stephen Sondheim at Hammerstein's Bucks County farm -- is a year-long program that offers expert mentorship to early career composers and lyricists. The Oscar Hammerstein Festival will culminate in a weekend with musical theatre experts, artists, and enthusiasts and various events open to the general public. The Festival will launch September 26 - 28, 2014.

Also on that date, Michael Hurst, Managing Director of Two River Theater in Red Bank, NJ, began his three-year term on the Board.
