The Union City Performing Arts Center will be presenting the a very special musical show "The Union City Valentine's Day Concert" on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Union City Performing Arts Center located at 2500 Kennedy Boulevard in Union City.
 
The show will feature Tony Chiroldes from the Broadway show "In The Heights"; Soap Opera & Cabaret star JAna Martinez; Chris Vasquez "Best Singer" at their International Tango Music Competition; singer/actress Mary Aldousary; and the TapOle Dance Company.  Mark Goodman, Broadway Musical Director/pianist and director of the Union City PAC Orchestra will serve as musical director.  Actor /Singer Lucio Fernandez will serve as Master of Ceremony.
 
Admission is FREE and free parking is available at the 23rd Street Parking Deck located on 23rd Street between Summit and Kerrigan Avenues.  Everyone in the community is invited to attend.

About the Artists
 
Tony Chiroldes is an original Broadway cast member of the Tony and Grammy Award-winning musical IN THE HEIGHTS. Last year, he earned a grant from the Jim Henson Foundation to produce the multi-media presentation BEFORE ICARUS FELL, inspired by the life of Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont. Other credits include Paul Simon's CAPEMAN on Broadway, MISTER ROGERS' NEIGHBORHOOD, countless voice-overs, recorded books and simultaneous translation into Spanish on HBO'S REAL SPORTS.
 
Chris VasquezFrom his hometown of Buffalo, New York to Buenos Aires, Argentina, Chris Vasquez has been recognized for his passionate interpretations of the tango.  The NY Argentine Consulate awarded Mr. Vasquez the honored prize of "Best Singer" at their International Tango Music Competition, and he was a finalist in the Medellín International Tango Festival Voice Competition.  He has performed in New York at the Museo del Barrio, The Spanish Institute, Americas Society, and at The National Building Museum in Washington, DC among many other reputable places.  He has been guest soloist with the Long Island Symphony and The Americas Vocal Ensemble.  He has written and produced several tango shows including the celebrated The Son of Tango: A Tribute to Carlos Gardel.  As an actor, he has been seen in theater, film and TV in the USA and Spain and has toured in concert in Rumania, Bulgaria, and China.   Mr. Vasquez holds degrees from Tufts University and from New England Conservatory of Music.
 
Jana Martínez, has appeared in over forty commercials as principal performer and has appeared in the Telemundo primetime soap opera "Prisionera" with Gabriela Spanic; and principal cast member in "Anita No Te Rajes" (another Telemundo primetime soap opera) in the role of Natividad. Some of her live shows include "Guayaba Madura" and "Música Entre Tres" in Miami for which she was well received by the press, and in New York "Pensando En Ti | Thinking of You" alongside actor | singer Rubén Flores at the Metropolitan Room. Her most recent show with pianist|composer Roberto Lozano, "Amigos - A Celebration of Mexican Composers" in honor of Mexico's Bicentennial was performed last at Don't Tell Mama in New York City in November 2010.
 
Mary AldousaryRecently performed in Merry Go Round's production of "Man of La Mancha". Mary is a Chicago native and graduate of AMDA, NY. Credits include the World Premier of "No Place Like Home", and "Cupid and Psyche" at Steppenwolf Theatre Company. Chicago credits also include: Rizzo in "Grease"; Cleopatra in "The Many Faces of Cleopatra"; Velma Kelly in "Chicago"; Mercedes u/s in "Carmen".
 
TapOlé Dance Company, based in New York City and Union City has performed at the Latin Grammy's Street Party, at various shows at the UCPAC; the New York Hilton; on TV on Telemundo, Univision, and CABLEVISION; and a fall season at The Kraine Theatre in NYC.
