E.B. White's loving story of the friendship between a pig and a spider comes to life when Theatreworks/USA presents "Charlotte's Web" at Mercer County Community College's Kelsey Theatre on Saturday, April 20 at 2 and 4 p.m. Kelsey Theatre is located on the college's West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road.

Wilbur the pig has a problem: how to avoid winding up as pork chops! Charlotte, a little gray spider who's a fine writer and true friend, hits on a plan to fool Farmer Zuckerman -- she will create a "miracle." Spinning the words "Some Pig" in her web, Charlotte weaves a solution which not only makes Wilbur a prize pig, but ensures his place on The Farm forever.

Based on the Newbery Medal-winning book, this treasured tale, featuring mad-cap and endearing farm animals, explores bravery, selfless love, and the true meaning of friendship. "Charlotte's Web" began its national tour with Theatreworks/USA in 1993, and has been one of the company's most Popular Productions ever since.

The New York-based children's theater company is America's largest not-for-profit theater for young audiences. Since 1961, they have enlightened, entertained, and instructed over 78 million people in 49 states and Canada. Under the direction of Barbara Pasternack and Ken Arthur, Theatreworks/USA is the only children's theater to receive both a Drama Desk and a Lucille Lortel Award.

Tickets are $10 for all ages and may be purchased online at www.kelseytheatre.net or by calling the Kelsey Box Office at 609-570-3333. Kelsey Theatre is wheelchair accessible and free parking is available next to the theater.
