Julius Caesar and A Midsummer Night's Dream

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey's acclaimed educational touring company, Shakespeare LIVE!, will present one-hour family performances of Julius Caesar and A Midsummer Night's Dream at The Theatre's Main Stage. Since 1997, Shakespeare LIVE! has presented more than 1,300 performances to more than a quarter of a million young people, at over 750 schools and other venues throughout the Mid-Atlantic region and Connecticut.

Volunteer Open House

Thursday, April 28, 6:00 p.m.

The Shakespeare Theatre will hold a Volunteer Open House for community members interested in volunteering. Interested parties are invited to attend this open house to find out more about The Shakespeare Theatre and volunteer opportunities, meet the professional management staff, mingle with veteran volunteers, and learn about the 2011 Season from Artistic Director Bonnie J. Monte.

Monday and Tuesday, May 16 and 17

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey will host teachers and students in grades 5 through 12 from schools across the state for two full days highlighting and celebrating the study of Shakespeare through performance. The initiative offers an opportunity for middle and high school students to spend an entire day sharing the excitement of Shakespeare as actors and audience members. Each group of students will take the Main Stage at the F.M. Kirby Shakespeare Theatre to present a 20-minute Shakespeare scene to an audience of their peers, teachers, parents and professional actors from The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey who will serve as commentators.

The annual Outdoor Stage production at the Greek amphitheater at the College of St. Elizabeth in Morris Township will feature the world's most popular comedy. This newly conceived, exuberant, 90 minute production will be perfect for children and families of all ages and will celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Outdoor Stage in jubilant style. A Midsummer Night's Dream will include new 4:30 pm twilight performances on select Saturdays and Sundays in addition to 8:15 pm performances Tuesdays through Sundays. Our summer outdoor productions at the Greek amphitheater at the College of St. Elizabeth in Morris Township have become a perennial favorite for families of all ages, and we are thrilled to bring Shakespeare back under the stars this summer!
