#theaternow presents the world premiere of Peter and the Neverbird, a new one-man play inspired by J. M. Barrie's beloved classic, Peter and Wendy. This exciting new piece combines imagination-powered magic and theatricality to tell a new story of our cherished Peter Pan and the Neverbird, a lesser, benevolent figure from the book, who here gets a deeper exploration. Written and performed by Chris Bresky, it is directed by Sally Ollove and played two performances only -- June 8th and June 9th. BroadwayWorld has photos of Bresky in action below!

Long after the events of the Peter Pan story we all know, the Lost Boys have turned on Peter, joined the Pirates, and have chased the Neverbird into our world. They have broken the first rule of Neverland-Never hurt the Neverbird. Peter chases after to save her as she once saved him, but becomes lost in the process, making it apparent that he may need the Neverbird more than she needs him. Chris Bresky plays Peter in this "one man Pan", written to explore the lost childhood and loneliness that we have all at one time felt.

This is Chris Bresky's first produced work as a playwright. He is also currently workshopping another solo show which he originally developed for his MFA thesis at the University of San Diego, called Sons of our Mothers.

As an actor, Chris has been seen in Peter Pan (as Peter) and The History Boys (Barrymore Nom.) at the Arden Theatre, Tom Sawyer and Mark Twain: Sacred Cows Make the Best Hamburgers (People's Light), The Credeaux Canvas (Theatre Horizon), King John (New York Shakespeare Exch.), Lorenzaccio (Red Bull Theatre), Taming of the Shrew (Capitol Repertory Theatre), The Hit (Lamb's Players Theatre), Restoration Comedy, Much Ado About Nothing, Titus Andronicus,A Midsummer Night's Dream, Richard III, Othello, and Hamlet at The Old Globe in San Diego. Education: MFA, USD/The Old Globe. Television: Elementary, Medium, Numb3rs, and Do No Harm. Film: Romeo and Juliet adaptation, Private Romeo.

Sally Ollove is a Philadelphia-based director and dramaturg who has worked with Arden Theatre Company, Philadelphia Theatre Company, TheatreExile, Gas & Electric Arts, and The Foundry. She is the Resident Dramaturg at Azuka Theatre, Company Member of The Bearded Ladies Cabaret, and the producer of the Arden's new play residency program, The Writers' Room.
