The Eagle Theatre, located at 208 Vine Street in Hammonton, will offer a multi-session workshop for those interested in learning about the craft of playwrighting. This workshop will begin on February 2, and will run for seven total sessions through April 27. It is open to anyone aged 16 and older.

The workshop is designed to familiarize participants with the major structural elements of dramatic form, and guide them toward the writing of their own one-act play. The Eagle Theatre's Playwrighting Workshop will be directed by dramatic John Perovich. Perovich is a theatre artist from Mays Landing, New Jersey. He is an Adjunct Professor in the School of Arts and Humanities at The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey, having taught playwriting, acting, and dramatic literature courses. Play productions include: Father Knows Best (New York University, NY, NY), wash with the out (MATC, Chicago, IL), and no/more/excuses (Safe Mode Productions, NY, NY). Perovich currently serves as dramaturge for Players and Playwrights by the Jersey Shore.

At the conclusion of the workshop, participants will have the chance to see their own original one-act plays performed at a public event held at the Eagle Theatre.

The total cost for all seven sessions of the workshop is $45, payable by check, cash, or major credit card. For more information about the workshop, as well as for registration, interested individuals are encouraged to contact the Eagle Theatre at (609) 704-5012.
