Dwight Morrow High School, Hackensack High School, and Teaneck High School will unite for "Bergen Blowout" on Wednesday, October 23rd at Bergen Performing Arts Center in Englewood, New Jersey located at 30 North Van Brunt Street. "Bergen Blowout" features the three high schools' marching bands performing in one venue, combining forces to showcase their talent and musicality. Tickets are $10 and are being sold by students in the marching band. Englewood residents can email or Dr. Hollander atghollander@epsd.org or call at 201-862-6000 x6724.

This year, the event is bound to be monumental. Be prepared to hear "I Want You Back" by the Jackson 5, played by all three bands. The proceeds from the event will be split evenly between the three high school music departments. Additional merchandise, including a t-shirt and DVD will also benefit the marching band programs.

The event is broken into three segments where the color guard, drumline, and the full ensemble of each band are highlighted. The three bands for the Grand Finale come together and close the event with a joint piece.

Gary Hollander, Program Manager of Fine & Performing Arts at Dwight Morrow High School, and music teacher (McCloud Elementary School, Janis E. Dismus Middle School and DMHS), created the event. Through his determination, last year's Bergen Blowout was a success. Last year's show brought in ground- breaking crowds. The Bergen Blowout gives friends and family from Englewood, Teaneck, and Hackensack a chance to come to together and enjoy a night of fun. Ultimately, Bergen Blowout offers an opportunity for friendly competition.
