Brooke Feldman Named New Stage Manager of New Jersey Association of Verismo Opera

Evelyn La Quaif, General Manager of the New Jersey Association of Verismo Opera, announces Brooke Feldman has been named the company's stage manager for the 2013-2014 season. Feldman will work in the company's double bill of Giacomo Puccini's Suor Angelica and Pietro Mascagni's Cavalleria Rusticana at the Bergen Performing Arts Center in Englewood, New Jersey on October 20, 2013 and the 2014 productions of Giuseppe Verdi's La Traviata in April and Puccini's La Boheme in October.

Previously, Feldman worked with the Syracuse Opera Workshop in the productions Die Fledermaus, La Canterina, and The Impresario and Syracuse Opera's Don Giovanni and The Mikado. Other experiences include working in the Utah Festival Opera's A Tribute to Lerner and Loewe, The Barber of Seville, andThe Sound of Music. Locally, she has worked with SummerStage at Leonia in its productions of Bye Bye Birdie, Annie Get Your Gun, and Carousel, among others.

She holds a master of arts in arts administration from Indiana University and a bachelor of fine arts in stage management from Syracuse University.

Verismo Opera has been a part of the New Jersey music scene since 1989. The opera company, a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization, is the only professional, grand opera company in Bergen County and northern New Jersey. The organization provides performing opportunities for young musicians and artists and sponsors an annual vocal competition held in November with finals generally conducted in Carnegie Hall's Weill Hall, drawing artists from all over the United States, Canada, and Europe. The company also organizes opera workshops and concerts and offers affordable, highly professional operatic productions.
