Being Italian, being Jewish and being in therapy are the themes of Steve Solomon's one-man comedy My Mother's Italian, My Father's Jewish and I'm in Therapy at Bristol Riverside Theatre on November 2-6. Performances at Wednesday at 2:00 and 7:30 PM, Thursday at 7:30 PM, Friday at 8:00 PM, Saturday at 2:00 and 8:00 PM, and Sunday at 3:00 PM. In My Mother's Italian, My Father's Jewish and I'm in Therapy Steve Solomon plays more than 32 different characters, recreating the many accents he heard growing up on the streets of his multi-ethnic neighborhood in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn. There's Uncle Willie, Stuttering Cousin Bob, Demented Cousin Kenny, Steve's new therapist Cousin Sal (and Sal's parole officer) and a myriad of astounding characters we know, love and tolerate from our own families; each one brought to life on stage with voices dialects & wacky sound effects that only add to the hilarity of each story. The consequent crises and confusions became abundant fodder for his award-winning show. One part lasagna, one part kreplach and two parts Prozac, his show stories relate to the wacky side of the human condition.

Steve Solomon began working as a physics teacher and then an administrator, serving as assistant to the superintendent at a district on Long Island for 17 years. In deciding to change careers to his love for theater, he moved to Florida and used his writing talents and knack for dialects and accents to comedic effect with his sold-out performances of The Man, The Music, The Mishuggina! My Mother's Italian, My Father's Jewish and I'm in Therapy has met with rave reviews and great audience acclaim throughout the country.

The BRT's 25th Anniversary will feature other special performances by Pam Peterson (November 11-13), Pinkalicious, The Musical (February 25-26), Defending the Caveman (February 29-March 4), and Ben Vereen (April 20-22).
