On Monday night, May 22nd some of Broadway's finest will be taking to the stage in Sussex County for an evening entitled The Art of the "No" Deal. Admission to the night is free.

Hosted by Ward Billeisen and Seth Danner, the show will feature Robin Lennon fashion Designer and Owner of Artful Wear of Newton, Tony Award Winner Beth Leavel, 2 time Tony Nominated Christopher Sieber along with Shannon Huhn, special guest Saily Avelenda and more local talent. Songs for the night will come from many hit musicals including CABARET, THE ADDAMS FAMILY, SPAMALOT, WICKED, HERCULUES, FOLLIES.

The event is produced by Artists and Friends for a Progressive Future, headed by Billeisen and Robin Lennon. According to the organization, "the group was formed a few months ago because of the enormity of unbelievable actions taken by the White House and the Trump Administration. We formed through local connections here in Sussex County. Moving forward from signing petitions and posting on social media against the toxic agenda, we decided to take matters into our own hands and physically do something about it.

Robin was approached by Sally Ann Goodson of the Sussex County Democratic Committee to put on some sort of fashion/show fundraiser to raise awareness of the upcoming primary election and get more people involved from the county. We must stand strong and fight back."

Sussex County voter demographics are said to be comprised of 30% of democrats, liberals and independents. The group aims to "spread the word that it's ok to have a different opinion than what might be the 'norm.' Also for the fact that in most years the democratic ticket has been few if not absent from our county ballot and this year we have 6 running that are being backed by the Sussex County Democratic Committee. Kate Matteson, Gina Trish, Dan Perez, Jennifer Hamilton, Michele Van Allen and Ben Silva along with others making 8 total for the primary election on June 6th."
