The Palace Theatre in downtown Manchester continues its 2011-2012 Professional Theatre Citizens Bank Performing Arts Series with Guys and Dolls, opening on Friday, November 4, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. The show runs through November 19, 2011.

Guys and Dolls, set in Damon Runyon's mythical New York City is an oddball romantic comedy, considered by many to be the perfect musical comedy. Guys and Dolls soars with the spirit of Broadway. Don't miss your chance to experience this award-winning musical on the historic Palace Theatre stage.

For this production, local aspiring artist, Christy Doherty, created original renderings for the sets, which contain a mix of abstract with impressionism. "With the sets for the Palace's production of Guys and Dolls, we are very much creating our very own ‘Runyon Land' setting. The vibrant structures are abstract with innuendos of impressionism," states Christy Doherty, Palace Theatre Scenic Designer.

"Musical theatre audiences know Guys and Dolls is entertaining and musically pleasing, but for the Palace Theatre's interpretation of this classic Broadway hit, I am eager to incorporate my own quirky visual elements to the production and create a fast-paced, updated feel while keeping with the beloved story-line the audience anticipates," states Carl Rajotte, Artistic Director. "The cast of twenty for this performance, assembled from auditions held at the Palace Theatre and earlier this year in New York City, is going to include a great blend of talent, ages, and backgrounds. We have lots of talented folks who are coming back to Manchester for the first time in years, including Lindsey Clayton, returning to the area to perform on the Palace Stage where she took her very first dance steps at the age of three," adds Rajotte.
